For the academic year of 2026/2027, the total scholarship amount is $1000. Please note that all applications for the academic year 2026/2027 (fall and spring semesters) are due before 1 October 2026.

SWEA members from the past 5 years and their close family members are excluded from participation. Applicants must be residents of Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi or South Carolina.

It is expected that those who receive a stipend share their experience in Sweden with SWEA in the following ways: write a blog post for our SWEA blog, attend one of our events, meet some of our members or write a travel report when your return.

• Curriculum Vitae (CV)
• College transcripts if available, otherwise High School transcripts
• Project Proposal – an essay describing your interests and goals for your studies in Sweden
• Letter of Recommendation from a non-family adult who knows you well, including comments on your planned studies in Sweden, as well as your ability to achieve your goals.
